Reaching Florence is fairly simple. Especially if you’re landing at Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence or at Galileo Galilei Airport in Pisa. Public transportation offers several choices and are covered by bus, taxi and train.
Pisa-Florence coach buses

The ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ airport is connected with the city centre with the tramway, a very quick service ever 4 minutes.

Pisa-Florence coach transfer services are managed by Caronna Tour. They leave, every day, from Pisa International Airport to viale Guidoni tram station and viceversa. The journey takes about 60-70 minutes.
One way ticket costs € 14,00.

Taxi

Taxis are stationed in front of the terminal or can be called by radiotaxi.
Taxi fares are about € 20-25.
The riding time from the airport to Florence city center is about 15-20 minutes.

Train

The city’s main railway station is Firenze Santa Maria Novella (abbreviated as Firenze SMN). Situated in the city center, it is conveniently close to the major tourist attractions as well as to the main exhibition and trade centers. The station area is also the principal node for buses serving the city and the surrounding area.

The second most important station is Firenze Campo di Marte which is being used increasingly for national and international train services. The Campo di Marte train station is just outside the main road ring (boulevard) that surrounds the historical city center).

There are many more but smaller train stations in Florence which include Firenze Rifredi, Firenze Porta al Prato, Firenze Castello, Firenze Rovezzano, Firenze Statuto, Firenze San Marco Vecchio, all of them have a change-over to get to Firenze SMN.
