Biography

José-Luis Peydró — Keynote Speaker

José-Luis Peydró is an ICREA Professor of Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona GSE Research Professor, Research Associate at CREI, and Research Fellow at CEPR. His research focuses on banking, systemic risk, and macroprudential policy, with publications in leading economics and finance journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics (JFE), Review of Financial Studies (RFS), Journal of Finance (JF), American Economic Review (AER), and Econometrica.

Professor Peydró has presented his work at top academic institutions including Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, Berkeley, NYU, LSE, Oxford, and LBS, as well as at major policy organizations such as the Federal Reserve Board, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, IMF, World Bank, BIS, ECB, Bundesbank, and the Bank of England. He is also the author of the book Systemic Risk, Crises, and Macroprudential Policy, published by MIT Press.

Currently, Professor Peydró serves as a Member of the European Systemic Risk Board in Frankfurt. He holds a PhD in Finance from INSEAD and a Master’s in Economics from CEMFI. Earlier in his career, he received first prize from the Government of Spain for graduating with the highest GPA among all Economics students in the country in 1998.
