Biography

Maurizio Dallocchio — Keynote Speaker

Maurizio Dallocchio is Full Professor of Corporate Finance at SDA Bocconi School of Management and Bocconi University, where he has built an outstanding career as a teacher, researcher, and academic leader. He served as Dean of SDA Bocconi from 2003 to 2007, Director of the Master in Corporate Finance from 2000 to 2016, and Director of the Department of Finance and Real Estate from 1992 to 2002. Over his career, he has led research projects, launched innovative educational initiatives, and promoted applied research recognized internationally.

Professor Dallocchio’s research and teaching span mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, corporate valuation, financial planning, governance, and sustainability. He is the author of around one hundred publications, including the widely adopted textbook Corporate Finance (Wiley, 5th edition, 2018, with P. Quiry, A. Salvi, and Y. Le Fur), used in MBA and MSc programs across the globe. He has taught and conducted research at leading institutions such as the London Business School, IMD Lausanne, the Stockholm School of Economics, and NYU Stern. He also served for many years on the Academic Council of CEIBS in Shanghai.

Beyond academia, Professor Dallocchio has combined scholarship with professional practice. In 1991, he co-founded DGPA & Co, a corporate finance consultancy active in M&A operations. He has advised governments and corporations in privatizations, IPOs, and restructuring processes, while holding governance roles in companies and institutions such as The Walt Disney Company, Klepierre Management, General Finance, and Podravska Banka. He has also served as Chair and member of the European Investment Bank Audit Committee.

Professor Dallocchio graduated in Business Administration from Bocconi University and completed further studies at the London Business School and New York University. Outside his academic and professional life, he is a passionate marathon runner, having completed the New York City Marathon 23 times, and is remembered for his years as the goalkeeper of the SDA Bocconi soccer team, where he earned the nickname “Saponetta Dallocchio.” A devoted fan of Star Wars, he even voiced a cameo in the Italian edition of Episode VII.
